August - September 2025 Prayer Letter

"And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads." Revelation 22:4 Oh how we long to see His wonderful face one day.

Because of our Lord's love, grace and mercy we can serve Him at any age because it is all about Him.  There is much to be done to reach the deaf in our area. The jungle is full of mall communities.  Most of the deaf we meet in those areas work for their families' small farms but have very little homemade communication skills.  We pray the Lord will raise laborers from our small church.  I am currently training our son Paul, our nephew Jonathan and his wife Lis.  They are already a blessing and a great help in our church.  Jonathan and Paul do our van route and help teaching and preaching.  Jonathan will step down from his teaching job at the end of the year to join us full time.  We are working with nine students in our deaf school, six of them are full time, four are very eager to learn and we pray they will serve the Lord with us in church and school in the Lord's timing.  We appreciate your prayers for them as well.

During a school break we went to Lima for medical reasons; my wife had cataract surgeries which improved her vision greatly.  They also checked my eyes thoroughly only to reaffirm my optic nerve is the problem that my eyesight is slowly going down.  Anita had surgery on her left little finger she broke in an accident years ago in Ecuador.  The Neurologist ordered MRIs for both of us. For me, it was to see the memory side of my brain; the specialist concluded there are no signs of concern, only normal aging. Anita had an episode of temporary amnesia.  Thank the Lord they did not find any brain alterations and the electroencephalogram did not show any epilepsy signs.  I cherish my wife; she is my helpmeet in every area. Thank you for praying; we want to continue having the honor of serving the Lord on the mission field.

Sandi Soto is one of the precious fruits in Ecuador; she is here helping us in our deaf school.  We found Sandi at age 13 with no communication skills.  She was premature at birth, deaf, blind on one eye and has slight cerebral palsy, but nothing stopped her from knowing the Lord, becoming faithful, finishing high school with us an being trained to be a teacher in our deaf school and now she is doing missionary work with us in Peru.  She replaced Karla when Karla's time was up here in Peru.  Sandi arrived to Lima during Anita's eye surgery so Anita asked her eye doctor if they could check Sandi's good eye to see why she had to wear very thick glasses.  The Lord opened doors and they found Sandi needed surgery to fix a detached retina.  Thank the Lord He provided and Sandi had her surgery which saved her eyesight and improved it.  Praise the Lord for His great love.

During our stay in Lima, the Lord gave us the joy of leading ten people to our precious Savior including two relatives, four deaf young people etc. I was also asked to preach and my wife taught a ladies Sunday School class, taught in a ladies' conference etc. We also led a deaf pastor's mom to the Lord; it was this pastor's answer to prayer. Glory to God!

The churches in Ecuador continue reaching people, praise God.  Pastor Michael and the church in Portoviejo are building their sanctuary. Please pray for the Lord to provide for them.  We love our Ecuadorian churches and miss them, but are also happy to reach people here in Peru.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for partnering with us in praying and giving.  Please continue to do so until the Lord's return.

Because of His love,

Raymond + Anita
